Volunteer Opportunities for Groups

The list of opportunities below is not exhaustive, and we welcome suggestions. If you have an idea for a project,
please reach out to the volunteer manager Chelsea Derbyshire – cderbyshire@safehaventc.org

Berry Good Buys
Volunteers at our thrift store, Berry Good Buys, assist staff in many ways such as sorting, sizing, and pricing donations. At this time, we can only accommodate groups of 6 people or fewer at our thrift store.

Prepare and Serve a Meal
Prepare a meal off-site or bring in catering/take-out and serve either lunch or dinner to the clients in our shelter.

Interactive Group Activities
Organize and lead an interactive group activity in our shelter. This can range from a yoga class, a mommy-and-me activity, a field day for the kids in the shelter, and anything in between!

Special Events & Holidays
If you are looking to volunteer at a specific event or holiday, please reach out. Volunteers are highly appreciated for the events that we host for the residents at our shelters.

Facilities
Come help us with the range of opportunities to help maintain our shelter. Some examples have included helping update our playground, building outdoor benches, and creating a community garden!
